Ledger has confirmed that an unauthorized hardware implant attack compromised user crypto assets, resulting in losses exceeding $86 million. Attackers implanted malicious components into some hardware devices to extract private keys and seed phrases, stealing Bitcoin and other tokens. Ledger is working with police and cybersecurity experts to identify affected devices and the scope of victims.
